The SQM2019 programme includes a plenary talk on the theme of "Diversity and Inclusion in Physics" that will be given by Dr. Meytal Eran Jona of the Weizmann Institute of Science. The talk is scheduled on Tuesday 11 at 6 pm. Dr. Jona will be happy to meet informally whoever will be interested on discussion/questions on gender equality in physics during the following poster session. More details here.

Bari was awarded as 5th town in the list of the Lonely Planet "Best in Europe 2019", the essential european destinations to visit this year: please have a look here.  

The deadline for accommodation in hotels with pre-booked options for SQM2019 (details here) was over on March 31. Agreements with most of the hotels/B&B have been extended by a couple of weeks, in particular up to April 19 with Villa Romanazzi (conference venue). Participants who have not yet done it are warmly invited to book a room as soon as possible since Bari is a very popular and liked place, especially during the high season.  

As of today, the SQM2019 conference fee is 450 €. Supported students who have not yet paid the reduced fee within the deadline can still pay a reduced fare updated to 250 €. There are no changes for the accompanying person (full and reduced) fees. Abstract and student support request acceptance has been notified to individuals and Collaborations. The selection of the Contributed talks and Posters has been quite challenging due to the very large number of high-quality proposals received compared to the available slots.
